CLARK’S THE SWISSÔTEL EXPERIENCE

swissotel clark hotel

Clark, Pampanga, has always been a place that I was curious about. I already made a stopover somewhere in Pampanga way back when I visited La Union. Again, it was only a stopover for some food and “pasalubong”, but I haven’t really experienced the place itself.

This time around, my friends and I decided to make an actual staycation in Pampanga. And where specifically? Where else? Clark, of course. Well, I used the phrase “of course” because Clark’s tourism has really been buzzing on the news and on people’s social media in recent years. Perhaps due to its stunning new airport and businesses, they are really sprouting like mushrooms.

SWISSÔTEL CLARK

Such sprouting businesses are hotels. One of the signs of a place’s booming tourism. The Swissôtel is the most prominent hotel in Clark. It is the 5-star hotel in the Hann Casino Resort complex. Yup, a complex. There are three hotels in the complex, and I stayed at two! The other one I stayed at was in Widus. You can read more in a separate article. 😉

Going back to a 5-star hotel, and yes, it is indeed. The hotel where we stayed is named the Swiss Advantage Room. This room at Swissôtel Clark is 46 square meters. Would you kindly appreciate the stunning view of the mountains in Clark, Pampanga?

Aside from the breathtaking scenery, the Swiss Advantage room at Swissôtel Clark has a gorgeous bed with a red leather headboard. How extravagant! With a matching red minibar that contains complimentary bottled water, a Nespresso machine, tea-making supplies, and wine glasses, among other things. The room also has a 55-inch TV, a writing desk, complimentary high-speed WiFi, a telephone with a handset in the bedroom and bathroom, a universal wall outlet, an iron, a data port, USB charge connections, an alarm clock, and so much more. The bathroom also includes a makeup mirror, hairdryer, bathrobe, and slippers.

VERONA BRUNCH CLUB / RISTORANTE DI VERONA

And… the Verona Brunch Club. Talk about luxury! We had the best time there. From Wednesdays to Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner, Ristorante Di Verona serves a scrumptious array of offerings, as you can see here. It is located on the 5th floor of the Swissôtel Clark.

On Sundays, Ristorante di Verona becomes the Verona Brunch Club! Ristorante di Verona’s brunch version is more upscale. It offers a free-flowing brunch menu with signature champagne and bag signatures, as well as world-class choices with Italian classics. Take a peek at that menu. And to add to the luxurious atmosphere, the DJ will be spinning live. A sure-fire good time indeed!

I’ll leave the details here for you.

Verone Brunch Club Rates per person:

₱3,888++ – with free-flowing non-alcoholic beverages

₱4,888++ – with free-flowing wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages

₱8,888++ – with free-flowing Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut, wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages

THE ATRIUM

The Swissôtel Clark’s Atrium is located in the hotel’s lobby. Staying true to the hotel’s bar aesthetic, there are actual large palm trees and a magnificent ceiling mural, as well as live plants around. The Atrium offers our favorite cocktails and mocktails. Not in the mood for drinking? They are also serving tea and healthy juices as well as food. The Atrium is said to be well-known for its crafted gin and tonic selection, which goes perfectly with its healthy international cuisine offerings. The Atrium is open at 11 a.m. to 22 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and 24 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

MARKT

Markt is unmistakably different from the hotel restaurants I’ve visited. And I really enjoyed it. One reason is that it has seven stations and is Swissôtel Clark’s only all-day restaurant. Markt combines Swiss heritage with influences from European food markets. The seven stations include a grill station, a fried station, a pasta station, a dessert station, a salad station, a beverage station, and lastly, a pizza station. I especially enjoyed the spaghetti and grilling stations because I could eat pasta everyday and, yeah, meat. Haha!

Markt is open daily at 6 a.m. to 22 p.m.

SPICE

The Swissôtel Clark’s SPICE restaurant, which is open 24 hours a day, features Asian food. I enjoy Asian cuisine, and Spice did not disappoint! They serve traditional Asian dishes such as Pad Thai, dumplings, siopaos, soups, and many more. Delicious sweets, Asian beers, and other hawker-style beverages are also available. I felt terrible because all of the food was delicious, but it was all too much to eat due to the sheer volume of options. I will definitely recommend that you try it!

My Clark, Pampanga experience is definitely memorable! I expected Clark to be quite busy and to have the same vibe as Manila, but I was entirely mistaken. It has a more laid-back vibe compared to Cebu. You certainly admire the mountain views, but you also appreciate the modern infrastructure and buildings. I definitely plan to return!
