If there’s one thing I love doing on weekends, it’s discovering new food spots around Cebu. And recently, I got to explore some of my personal favorites with zero stress. All thanks to the GrabCar Travel Guide.
Grab recently launched this new feature in their app that helps you find cool spots around the city. I gave it a try and I honestly wish this existed sooner. No more Googling addresses or figuring out which landmark to pin. Everything’s already there.

All you have to do is:
- Open the Grab app
- Tap the GrabCar icon
- Scroll down to the GrabCar Travel Guide
- Choose from categories like Chow Zones or Caffeine Corners
- Tap on your chosen spot — and it becomes your drop-off point!
I made my own food trail using this feature and here are some of the stops I personally visited and loved:

Sugbo Mercado
Garden Bloc, Inez Villa Street, Cebu IT Park, Cebu City
This place is such a vibe at night. I love coming here when I want variety, especially with Asian street food, desserts, and drinks. It’s casual, affordable, and always full of energy. It’s one of those places you bring friends to when you want everyone happy with their food.
I headed to Sugbo Mercado with two friends. We were on a mission for fish balls and tempura, and this vibrant night market didn’t disappoint. The lively atmosphere, combined with the array of food stalls, made for an enjoyable evening.
Using the GrabCar Travel Guide, we easily set Sugbo Mercado as our destination, eliminating any navigation hassles

La Vie Parisienne
371 Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City
Every now and then, I crave a change of scenery, and La Vie gives just that. It’s romantic, pretty, and perfect for wine nights or dates. You forget you’re in Cebu for a second.
This time. I planned a lunch date at La Vie Parisienne. The ambiance here is reminiscent of a quaint Parisian café. We indulged in freshly baked croissants and explored their selection of wines. The serene setting was perfect for meaningful conversations.
Thanks to the GrabCar Travel Guide, getting there was straightforward and stress-free.
Dimsum Break – Banilad Town Center

Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue, Banilad, Cebu City
This is a local favorite, and it never gets old. Their steamed fried rice and siomai are the ultimate comfort food for Cebuanos. It’s a quick stop but always worth it.
While running errands at Banilad Town Center, I noticed that Dimsum Break had reopened with a fresh new look. The renovated space was inviting, so I decided to grab a quick bite. Their steamed fried rice and siomai remain as delightful as ever.
Setting this spot as my destination through the GrabCar Travel Guide made the spontaneous stop convenient.
Brickwood

11 Roosevelt Drive, Cebu Transcentral Highway, Busay
This is the last stop, and it felt like a reward. Good food, a cool breeze, and a beautiful view. We enjoyed their offerings, especially the pizza, and just chilled for the night.
To cap off the day, I joined a group of friends for dinner at Brickwood in Busay. The elevated location offers a refreshing ambiance, perfect for evening gatherings. We shared a variety of dishes, each bursting with flavor. The journey up the Transcentral Highway was smooth, thanks to the GrabCar Travel Guide, which directed us straight to this hillside gem. Normally, I’d hesitate to go up Busay, but with GrabCar, I felt safe and relaxed the whole way.
