Palarong Pambansa 2024 Co-Presented by DITO Telecommunity

Palarong Pambansa 2024, the premier national sports event, proudly announces DITO Telecommunity as its co-presenter. This partnership underscores DITO’s commitment to building stronger telecommunities and promoting Filipino talent through sports. In collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Cebu City local government, DITO celebrates the prowess of young athletes as they compete in a variety of sports events.

A Historic Gathering of Young Athletes

Since its inception in 1948, Palarong Pambansa has been a gathering ground for young Filipino athletes nationwide. This year’s event will have 12,000 participants, coaches, and officials compete in 22 traditional sports, one demonstration sport, and four Para Games. Notably, this year’s event will introduce dance sports as a regular sport and include athletes from the National Academy of Sports and Philippine Schools Overseas for the first time. The games are scheduled from July 11 to 15, 2024, in Cebu City.

Celebrating Talent, Determination, and Diversity

Palarong Pambansa has always been a platform to showcase the skills, determination, and sportsmanship of young athletes. The theme for this year, “Beyond Sports,” aims to enhance the holistic development of athletes in both sports and education, strengthening the bonds among athletes, their families, and peers – an initiative that DITO fully supports.

“At DITO, we are dedicated to contributing to the development of a stronger, progressive nation,” said Evelyn Jimenez, Chief Revenue Officer for Consumer Business. “Through our GalingDITO campaign, we aim to recognize hidden talents, promote diversity, and empower more Filipinos to showcase their excellence. The Philippines is rich in natural resources, cultural heritage, and homegrown talents, and we aim to highlight these qualities, especially in this remarkable assembly of talented young athletes from all corners of the country,” Jimenez added.

More Than Just Winning

Beyond the gold medals, DITO sees the unity and collaboration of young athletes as the true essence of such large-scale events. “Every young Filipino athlete’s talent and perseverance contribute to their personal success, but together, they help create a powerful narrative of unity that can positively influence our nation,” Jimenez emphasized.

Being a co-presenter of Palarong Pambansa 2024, DITO will take part in the Opening Ceremony on July 9, 2024, at the Cebu City Sports Center, with DepEd, Cebu City officials, players, their families, coaches, and trainers.

 

Exciting Activities and Exclusive Freebies

Attendees may expect fun activities and exclusive goodies at the GalingDITO booths. Leading up to Palarong Pambansa 2024, the popular Pinoy pop boy group ALAMAT, GalingDITO Ambassadors, will host a fan meet on July 7, 2024, at SM City Cebu.
